Falcons re-signed CB Cornell Armstrong to a one-year contract.
The sixth-year corner started four games for Atlanta in 2022, the first starts of his NFL career. Armstrong, a special teams standout during his time with the Dolphins and Texans, should reprise a significant role on special teams and serve as depth in the secondary for the Falcons. The deal was announced by agent Brett Tessler of Tessler Sports.
Texans re-signed CB Cornell Armstrong to a one-year, $1.25 million contract.
The No. 209 overall pick of the 2018 draft by the Dolphins, 25-year-old Armstrong has carved out a Texans niche as a special teamer.
The Texans promoted Armstrong to the active roster Saturday, NFL agent Brett Tessler reports.
Since the Texans' top two cornerbacks -- Johnathan Joseph and Bradley Roby -- are both questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders with hamstring injuries, the Texans brought up Armstrong as depth. He'll likely stick in a special-teams role as long as there aren't further injuries.
Armstrong signed a two-year contract with the Texans on Sunday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Armstrong was released Saturday by the Dolphins after they drafted him in the sixth round last year. He recorded eight tackles in 15 games as a rookie.
