Cody Latimer

Washington released WR Cody Latimer.
With five criminal charges and three felonies against him stemming from an incident in May, it's peculiar Latimer wasn't released sooner. Losing Latimer isn't exactly a loss from the Washington offense.
The Washington Post's Mark Maske reports Washington WR Cody Latimer was placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List.
This decision stems from his charges of assault in the second degree, menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, prohibited use of a weapon, and reckless endangerment in Englewood, Colorado from May. His place on Washington's roster remains in doubt.
Redskins WR Cody Latimer was taken into custody in Douglas County, Colorado on Saturday.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office was called to the Zenith Meridian Apartments in Englewood, CO on a call of shots fired indoors. Latimer was taken into custody on charges of assault in the second degree, menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, prohibited use of a weapon, and reckless endangerment. He's currently being held on a $25,000 bond. Given the charges, his place on Washington's roster is in doubt.
Redskins signed WR Cody Latimer, formerly of the Giants.
Latimer has been an end of the active roster receiver throughout his six-year NFL career. With the Giants falling victim to injuries last year, Latimer started 10 games and compiled a career-high 300 receiving yards on a 7.1 YPT average. The Redskins receiver room is completely open behind Terry McLaurin, so it's possible Latimer makes starts in 2020. Expect him to compete with rookies and other fringe-starter talent this offseason.
