Cliff Avril
Player News
Update: Cliff Avril (neck) will not return on Sunday.
Avril may be Seattle's best pass-rusher, and Seattle may not be able to get much pressure on Cam Newton with Avril out. Cassius Marsh, Frank Clark and Demarcus Dobbs could all see more snaps with Avril out.
Cliff Avril is questionable to return on Sunday with a neck injury.
Seattle will likely have to force at least a couple of turnovers if they hope to come back in the second half, and that will be more difficult if Avril is not around to get after Cam Newton. Cassius Marsh will likely get most of the snaps at right defensive end if Avril cannot return.
Cliff Avril will not attend OTAs this week due to a family issue.
A veteran of Avril's status likely does not need OTA's to be ready for mandatory minicamp. Avril is coming off a solid season where he totaled 23 tackles, five sacks and one forced fumble for the NFC Champion Seahawks.
Cliff Avril (concussion) is out for the remainder of the game.
With Avril out of the mix the Seahawks turned to O'Brien Schofield to take over the reigns at defensive end, who had just 20 tackles and two sacks on the season. IN the end it didn't matter much, but if Avril was able to continue he would have at least helped the cause at getting to Tom Brady.
