This news might indicate the feeling about Colin Kaepernick's status than anything else. The former first-rounder in Minnesota, will join Chip Kelly and the Niners on a simple one-year deal and provide some camp depth at QB. He has no real shot to make the final roster for the San Francisco unless he simply plays like an entirely other quarterback than he's been in his brief career.

It was just a few week tenure in Denver for the one-time first round pick as he served as Brock Osweiler's backup. His services have been deemed no longer necessary in the mile-high city and he will now look for employment elsewhere.

With Peyton Manning dealing with Plantar Fasciitis the Broncos are signing Ponder to add depth at the quarterback position behind Brock Osweiler.

Ponder was beaten out by Matt McGloin for the backup QB job with the Raiders. He could end up on the team's practice squad.
