Chris Thompson

Thompson spent parts of training camp with the 49ers and eventually signed to the practice squad in December, and he's now set to remain with the team for the offseason program. The 25-year-old hasn't seen NFL action since appearing in 13 games as a rookie with the Texans in 2017.

Thompson spent much of the offseason in San Francisco, and he now rejoins the team as a member of the practice squad. The third-year pro could be a candidate to bump to the active roster later in the season if he shows well on special teams.

Thompson was waived by the 49ers earlier in training camp, and now rejoins the team in a depth capacity. The third-year wideout faces long odds to make the 53-man roster, but it's somewhat encouraging that San Francisco was interested enough to give him a second chance.

Thompson spent less than a week in San Francisco after being cut by the Texans. The second-year wideout will now search for a depth role elsewhere in the league.
