Claybrooks was on the field when the Jaguars opened training camp, but the former seventh-round pick is likely on thin ice with the team and head coach Doug Pederson. Since entering the league in 2020, Claybrooks has appeared in 46 games while playing primarily on special teams.

The charges stem from an April 15 incident in which Claybrooks, who has played three seasons with the Jaguars, allegedly grabbed a cell phone from a woman's hand and damaged it by throwing it the ground. The incident occurred in a movie theater parking lot, according to police reports. A team spokesman said the team was aware of the incident and would not comment on Claybrooks' status with the Jaguars. Claybrooks is scheduled to appear in court on May 1.
