Moore was released last April after it was announced he’d be suspended all of 2023 for violating the league’s gambling policy. His suspension/release came a month after the Lions had signed him to a two-year, $4.5 million contract, so it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that the team is interested in bringing him back. Moore served as a special teams ace for the Lions during his first four years in the league, and is expected to play primarily on special teams this season.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Moore was one of three players found to be betting on NFL games, prompting a minimum one-year suspension from the league. The Lions opted to move on from Moore soon after the news dropped, just weeks after signing him to a two-year, $4.5 million contract. Moore has appeared in 56 games for his career, serving primarily on special teams.

Moore played his first four seasons with the Lions before being waived in August with an injury settlement. The team now brings him back with a two-year contract with $3 million fully guaranteed, a solid amount for a player confined almost exclusively to special teams snaps.
