Sowell appears to have been usurped by Jesper Horsted as the No. 3 tight end on Chicago's roster. He's only recorded one catch in his career, so Sowell's status doesn't carry much of a fantasy impact.
Sowell signed a contract with the Bears on Monday.
Sowell was waived Saturday in order to bring linebacker James Vaughters to the active roster for Sunday's win over Detroit. Vaughters is now being waived in a corresponding transaction.

Sowell has now been now been cut and re-signed by the Bears four times this season, making his standing near the bottom of the 53-man roster abundantly clear. James Vaughters -- who was signed Saturday in Sowell's place -- was waived in a corresponding move.
