A core special teamer type, Jackson was limited to four games by a hamstring issue in 2020. 2021 will be his age-30 campaign.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports there are "zero issues" with the shoulder BYU QB Zach Wilson had surgically-repaired in 2019.
The Jets, who seem locked into Wilson at No. 2, have reportedly received info from "trusted medical sources." It would appear nothing was flagged at Wilson's Combine re-check in Indianapolis. Speaking Tuesday, Jets GM Joe Douglas all but admitted Wilson would be the team's pick.
Jets re-signed S Bennett Jackson.
Jackson made six appearances for the Jets last year, primarily being used on 91 special teams snaps after a failed stint off of waivers with the Ravens in early September. He'll re-join teammate Arthur Maulet as another player New York brought back upon opting not to tender.
Jackson was claimed off waivers by the Jets on Tuesday, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Jackson was waived by the Ravens on Monday but will now rejoin his old team. The 28-year-old started the season with the Jets but was let go after not playing a snap in the season opener.
