The Jets placed Goodson on the reserve/retired list to get an extra roster spot in his absence. He spent the first three years of his career with the Giants before spending a year in Green Bay and then another with the Browns. Goodson, just 28 years old, signed a one-year, $2.1 million deal with the Jets just after their opener. He only saw seven special teams snaps in Week 2. He ends his career with 251 combined tackles and four interceptions.

Goodson set career-highs in most categories across 14 starts last year, registering 91 tackles, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery in Cleveland. His 43 career starts are considered veteran experience and depth for an otherwise thin front-seven.

Goodson set career highs in 14 starts last year, posting 91 tackles, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery. The Browns let him walk in the offseason, leaving Goodson searching for his third team in as many seasons. Goodson is likely going to have to settle for another one-year deal wherever he lands.

Acquired from the Giants last September, Goodson played just 305 snaps for Green Bay. He could be an option to help replace Christian Kirksey and Joe Schobert in Cleveland but the Browns should realistically set their sights higher.
