Player News
Larkin was promoted to the Falcons' 53-man roster Tuesday, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
The 24-year-old was promoted to the active roster in late November and appeared in one game before being waived, and he'll now receive another chance on the 53-man roster. Larkin provides depth at defensive end with Takkarist McKinley (shoulder) sent to injured reserve and Vic Beasley (undisclosed) and Allen Bailey (personal) not fully available.
Larkin was waived by the Falcons on Tuesday.
Larkin was with the team for Week 12's loss to the Buccaneers and played just 11 special-teams snaps. He is likely headed back to Atlanta's practice squad.
The Falcons promoted Larkin to their 53-man roster Saturday.
Larkin just signed with the Falcons' practice squad earlier in the week, so his promotion comes relatively quick. However, he is familiar with the team, as he spent training camp with the club. He is expected to provide depth at defensive end and presumably contribute on special teams.
Larkin joined the Falcons' practice squad Tuesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The 24-year-old defensive end was brought back in a corresponding move to Anthony Coyle being waived, a month and a half after Larkin himself was waived from the Falcons' practice squad. Larkin has yet to appear in a regular-season game, but for the time being he provides the organization with another developmental piece along the defensive line.
