Austin Howard
Player News
Austin Howard had shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum he dealt with all season.
Howard managed to play 11 games (10 starts), including the Raiders' Wild-Card Round matchup against the Texans, this season despite the shoulder issue. He should have plenty of time to mend before the 2017 season.
Austin Howard (ankle) is fully healthy and expects to play in Week 6.
Howard played in Week 5 against San Diego on Sunday so this shouldn't come as a shock that he'd be able to play the following week. Howard was slated to be the starting right tackle for a burgeoning Oakland offensive line this season but has only managed to play twice, Week 2 and Week 5.
Austin Howard is not practicing on Thursday.
This makes Howard unlikely to play Sunday, but does not rule him out altogether. It does not have a huge impact on the Raiders offense unless Menelik Watson goes out for some reason.
Austin Howard is expected to start at right tackle in Week 2.
Both Menelik Watson and Matt McCants have been listed as doubtful for the Week 2 matchup with the Falcons, and Howard has practiced all week. He had injured his ankle in the final preseason game on September first, but appears to be back to full health. The Raiders should be able to put plenty of points on the board against a suspect Falcons defense.
