Broncos officially announce signing of QB Austin Davis.
Shortly after releasing veteran quarterback Mark Sanchez, the Broncos bring in Austin Davis as depth on a one-year deal. He spent last season with the Browns, but they let him go in August. He then worked out for the QB-needy Cowboys, but they let him hit the road after he demanded guaranteed money. Even if disaster hits Denver and they're forced to actually start Davis, he holds no relevance as a fantasy entity and should be avoided.
Stephen Davis reiterated that Austin Davis remains an option as a backup quarterback for the Cowboys.
Davis was released earlier this week by Cleveland, and met with the Cowboys on Wednesday, with reports that the two sides were unable to come to an agreement. Davis may be looking for a team in which he has a better chance to play with the Cowboy's planning to start Dak Prescott until Romo returns from his injury.
Cowboys bringing in QB Austin Davis on Wednesday for visit. He was released Monday by Cleveland.
His preseason was sidetracked when he suffered a concussion. The Cowboys are going to kick the tires on any available QB, but taking on another signal-caller with injury concerns does not seem wise.
Austin Davis has been released by Cleveland on Monday.
Apparently, with both Robert Griffin and backup Josh McCown on the roster, the Browns felt it was time to make a cut. Maybe, it is time for Davis to get on a bus, and head to Dallas to beg for a job.
