Bucs restructured FS Antoine Winfield's contract.
Tampa also restructured LT Tristan Wirfs, clearing $3 million in cap space. The Bucs went with a max restructure, adding void years and converting base salaries to signing bonuses. Winfield, a 2020 second-rounder, is in the final year of his rookie deal while Wirfs is signed through 2024 after the Bucs picked up his fifth-year option in April. Adding void years rather than extending Winfield leaves open the chance of the Pro Bowl safety hitting free agency next offseason.
Bucs S Antoine Winfield (ankle) is questionable for Week 16's game against Arizona.
Winfield is again a "game-time decision" per Bucs coach Todd Bowles despite not practicing all week. He did the same thing last week and was active for Week 15, but aggravated the ankle injury while playing just 18 defensive snaps. Mike Edwards (hamstring) is also questionable after popping up on the injury report with a hamstring late on Friday.
Bucs S Antoine Winfield (ankle) is questionable for Week 15's game against the Bengals.
It's an upgrade from last week when both Winfield and MIke Edwards were doubtful -- this week they're both questionable. Tampa's defense has looked much worse when Winfield has been off the field. Todd Bowles called Winfield and Edwards "game-time decisions" in his Friday presser.
Bucs S Antoine Winfield (ankle) is doubtful for Week 14 against the 49ers.
Winfield did not practice at all this week, and it was a surprise to see him not ruled out on Friday. Still, we fully expect him to be listed as inactive Sunday afternoon. Winfield is an every-down player when healthy but missed a pair of games a few weeks ago with a concussion. He is now set to miss at least two games because of the ankle issue.
