Cappa was a cap casualty for Cincinnati earlier this week. The age-30 guard has 96 career starts during his time with the Bengals and Bucs. Dylan Parham started at right guard for the Raiders last year but missed a handful of games with an injury and was even benched for a week. Cappa could push him for the starting role in training camp. Even if the Raiders stick with Parham, Cappa gives them a second option as Parham heads into a contract year.

This was a long-expected move after Cappa allowed a career-high eight sacks and 51 pressures, per PFF. Cappa, 30, carried a $10.2 million cap hit for 2025, but his release will free up $8 million in cap space for a Bengals team that is hoping to sign a handful of stars to long-term extensions this offseason. Cappa is a seven-year veteran of the league who has started 96 of the 102 games he’s appeared in for his career. He should have no trouble finding a team who is willing to take him on and give him a chance to either start in 2025 or serve as a veteran backup.

Cappa went down with the ankle injury in Week 18 and has been out ever since. He doesn't look likely to suit up for the AFC Championship game. The Bengals' backup lineup did an incredible job keeping their quarterback safe in the Divisional Round. Joe Burrow took a single sack versus the Bills. A similar performance versus the Chiefs would be a major win for a team looking to avenge their Super Bowl loss from a year ago. 

Joe Burrow enters the Divisional Round behind an offensive line decimated by injuries, facing a Buffalo defense with the NFL's 14th highest pressure rate. Burrow last week against the Ravens was sacked four times while narrowly avoiding a handful of other sacks and facing pressure on nearly every second half drop back. Expect Burrow to pepper his short-area targets against the Bills.
