Colbert has not played in a regular season game since 2022, when he appeared in two games for the Bears. The 31-year-old has spent parts of the last seven years with the 49ers, Dolphins, Giants, Jets, Browns, and Bears. He has been in and out of Chicago over the last two season and now returns as the Bears add depth to their secondary.

Colbert has played for five teams since entering the NFL in 2017. Last year, he played two games for the Browns and four games for the Jets, logging 16 tackles for New York. Colbert will likely be a depth player in the Tennessee secondary, which was graded by Pro Football Focus as last season's 15th best coverage unit. 

Colbert hasn't played since Week 4 due to an ongoing concussion. The 28-year-old will suddenly be shopping for his fifth team in as many seasons.

Signed in May, 28-year-old Colbert failed to make it to the regular season with New England. He was limited to six games in 2020 by a shoulder injury, which he's presumably cleared from by now if interviewed elsewhere before the regular-season opener.
