Barnes, a UDFA out of Louisiana Tech, played in seven games for the Lions secondary this season but didn't make a meaningful impact on the field. He was let go to make room for the addition of Corey Lemonier to the 53-man roster after being awarded via waiver claim. He will likely wind back up on the practice squad for the Lions.
