Aaron Ripkowski
Player News
Ripkowski was waived by the Chiefs on Friday per the NFL's official transaction log.
Ripkowski spent his first three seasons in Green Bay before failing to find a new team in 2018. He finally found a landing spot in Kansas City, where he signed a future/reserve contract in January. However, he will now be forced again to find a new opportunity.
Aaron Ripkowski (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday.
Ripkowski was added to the injury report for Green Bay on Saturday, which is surprising given teams don't do anything but a walk through the day before games. Ripkowski is coming off his most productive game of the season in Week 17 against Detroit in which he carried the pigskin nine times for 61 yards and notched two catches for 15 yards and a score. If he can't go, the already battered and bruised Packers backfield gets a bit thinner as does their ability to block opposing pass rushers.
Aaron Ripkowski suffered a back injury Week 3 and did not return.
Ripkowski is optimistic that the back injury he suffered in Sunday's game is not serious, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Green Bay selected Ripkowski in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft despite the presence of long-time fan favorite John Kuhn on the roster. Kuhn is gone and he has filled that role thus far this season. We will update you when more information comes available.
