Aaron Dobson

Dobson, a former second-round pick of the Patriots, is now with his third team in the NFL. Following being released by New England, he played for a cup of coffee in Detroit while not catching a pass and now has found a home in the desert on a futures contract with Arizona. Dobson had a promising rookie campaign in 2013 with 37 catches for 519 yards and four scores but since then has battled injuries and a lack of performance, Arizona hopes they can find the skills that made him a 59th overall pick.

Dobson was not seeing any action as a member of the Lions prior to his release. He could potentially provide some depth for the Cardinals with John Brown and Michael Floyd both questionable at the present time. He is probably not worth adding off the wire for Week 8 and Arizona has a bye coming up in Week 9 as well, further limiting his fantasy utility.

Dobson was waived by the Lions on Saturday, making him available. If the Lions did not need him, do not rush out to grab him just because he is joining the Colts, potentially.

Dobson will now have the luxury of contact from every team in the NFL now that he's officially a free agent. Dobson played the last three seasons with the Patriots but hasn't been impressive since his rookie campaign in which he caught 39 passes, brought in 519 yards and scored four times.
