A.J. Brown caught 3-of-5 targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory over the Chiefs.
Brown got free for a 12-yard touchdown late in the second quarter to put the Eagles up 24-0 in their eventual 40-22 victory. The superstar wideout has now scored in each of his career Super Bowl appearances. Brown’s 13 regular season appearances matched a career low thanks to a Week 2 hamstring issue and Week 17 knee ailment, but he still sailed past 1,000 yards receiving for the fifth time in his career and third time in as many seasons with the Eagles. With Jalen Hurts being asked to do less amidst Saquon Barkley’s domination on the ground, Brown didn’t receive as many down-field opportunities. Only 15.8 percent of his looks came 20-plus yards beyond the line of scrimmage, a new career low with the Eagles. This led to some late-season unhappiness, where Brown could scarcely hide his displeasure with Hurts’ play. This QB/WR pairing is going to be a little more volatile as long as Barkley is putting the offense on his back, but AJB remains in his prime heading into his age-28 campaign. He’s still a higher-end WR1 for fantasy purposes.
A.J. Brown caught 6-of-8 targets for 96 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ NFC Championship Game win over the Comanders.
Brown woke up the stat sheet after combining for just 3/24 across the Eagles’ first two playoff games. The Eagles finally got their sideline passing attack going, and Brown was obviously the primary beneficiary. His score was an end zone roasting of Mike Sainristil shortly after he drew an end zone DPI on Marshon Lattimore. Something close to a repeat performance will be needed for Super Bowl LIX regardless of who wins the AFC Championship Game.
A.J. Brown (knee) was removed from the injury report and will play in the NFC Championship Game against the Commanders.
No surprises here as the Eagles have been managing Brown’s knee issue for weeks. It hasn’t given him any issues recently and he even told reporters earlier this week that he was feeling better. The Eagles will likely stick with their run-heavy approach this week. However, if the Commanders can push them on offense, Philly will be forced to throw more, keeping Brown in play as a high-ceiling DFS option on the short slate.
A.J. Brown (knee) was a full participant in Thursday’s practice.
Brown was limited on Wednesday but said he was feeling better. That appears to be the case, as the Eagles’ star receiver was upgraded to a full participant in Thursday’s practice and has a chance to be removed from the injury report entirely by Friday. The Eagles have been managing Brown’s injury for the last several weeks in hopes of having him at his best come game day. He’ll be ready to go for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the Commanders.
