Ron Holland

Ron Holland and Marcus Sasser have each been suspended a game for their roles in Sunday’s altercation with the Timberwolves.
Sasser, Holland and Isaiah Stewart will all sit out Wednesday’s matchup with the Thunder, while Stewart will miss an additional game after getting slapped with a two-game suspension. Neither Sasser nor Holland has played meaningful minutes consistently this season, but their absences will allow guys like Simone Fontecchio and Lindy Waters III to log a little extra court time.
Ron Holland turned in a full line on Monday with 10 points (3-of-4 FGs), two rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block against the Pelicans.
In comparison to some other rookies in this class, Holland has flow under the radar at times during his first season in the league. Detroit has been too competitive for him to play a significant role, but he has been productive when given the opportunity. This wasn’t a monster performance by any means, but it was an encouraging one for dynasty managers. Holland won’t turn 20 years old until July, so any glimpses of upside at this point are great to see.
Ron Holland provided a boost off the bench with 26 points (11-of-14 FGs), three rebounds and two triples in a 123-99 loss to Boston on Thursday.
Holland took advantage of garbage time in this game. He scored 20 of his career-high 26 points in the fourth quarter, with 17 of those coming in the final six minutes of the game. That isn’t trying to discredit what he did, since Boston doesn’t have a weak lineup. The rookie shattered his previous career-high of 14 points, and it was great to see him get something going on offense after he scored a total of 21 points over their last five games. Holland isn’t worth rostering in redraft formats, but dynasty managers have to be excited about this performance.
The Pistons will start Cade Cunningham, Malik Beasley, Ron Holland, Tobias Harris and Jalen Duren against the Bucks on Wednesday.
With Jaden Ivey, Simone Fontecchio and Tim Hardaway Jr. all sidelined for this game, Beasley and Holland will move into the starting unit. Beasley should get up plenty of 3-pointers against his former team, while the rookie will get the first start of his career.
