Much like his twin brother Amen, Ausar is long with huge leaping ability and plays above the rim. Thompson is a solid scorer who does most of his damage inside the three-point line, but heâ??s shown the ability to knock down shots from beyond the arc. He needs to improve his three-point and free-throw shooting, but heâ??s already a solid passer and strong defender. Even though parts of his game are still raw, his otherworldly ups and athleticism should make him successful in the NBA from Day 1. Thompson joins a young team that is loaded with lottery talent. He'll try and fit in alongside Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey on the perimeter, as Detroit will bolster one of the best young backcourts in the league.
