Simone Fontecchio provided a boost off the bench with 23 points (9-of-10 FGs), seven rebounds, one steal and five three-pointers against the Pelicans on Monday.
The lopsided score in favor of Detroit helped Fontecchio set a new season-high for scoring in this game. He did an excellent job during cleanup time and scored 18 of his 23 points in the second half. Fontecchio also made all five of his attempts from deep. It was a fantastic night for him, but this isn’t something that managers should get used to. He has averaged 6.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 triples per game this season, which has him ranked outside the top-300 in nine-cat leagues.
Simone Fontecchio (finger) will miss Wednesday’s matchup with the Celtics.
Fontecchio will miss a second straight game due to a dislocated finger, and his next chance to return will be Friday when the Pistons host the Nuggets. Fontecchio’s absence won’t cause much of an impact in the world of fantasy hoops, as his production has been minimal this season when available.
Simone Fontecchio (finger) is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Celtics.
Injured during Sunday’s win over the Hawks, Fontecchio’s dislocated finger caused him to miss Monday’s win over the Clippers. He was also considered questionable for that contest, so there’s no guarantee he’ll return on Wednesday. However, Fontecchio has not been productive enough to merit being stashed on deep league rosters as he works his way back to full strength.
Simone Fontecchio (finger) is out for Monday’s game against the Clippers.
Fontecchio left Sunday’s win over the Hawks with a dislocated finger on his right hand and will not be available on Monday. Paul Reed did play a few rotation minutes after Fontecchio’s injury, but he is not worth the streaming risk in most fantasy leagues.
