Christian Koloko is inactive for Tuesday’s game against the Cavaliers.
As a two-way player, Koloko can only be active for 50 regular-season games, per NBA rules. The Lakers are welcoming back Jaxson Hayes from an ankle injury, so Koloko will not be active for Tuesday’s game. Neither player offers fantasy value when Anthony Davis is healthy, so this will not impact fantasy basketball.
Christian Koloko (blood clots) will play rotation minutes in Wednesday’s game against the Grizzlies.
Koloko will make his season debut on Wednesday, and Lakers coach JJ Redick will not waste any time. The 7-foot-1 center will be in the rotation, giving the Lakers additional depth with Anthony Davis and Rui Hachimura sidelined. Jaxson Hayes should be the priority for fantasy managers, but keep an eye on Koloko.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Christian Koloko has been cleared by the NBA’s fitness-to-play panel and will begin practicing with the team this week.
Koloko hasn’t played since April of 2023 due to a blood clot issue, but the seven-footer is on track to get back on the court this season. Once he ramps back up to game shape, he could offer backup depth in the frontcourt behind Anthony Davis.
Christian Koloko (return to competition reconditioning) is out for Monday’s game against the Suns.
Koloko, who did not play last season due to blood clots, is in the reconditioning phase of his return-to-competition process. The hope is that he’ll be able to provide depth in the frontcourt, giving Anthony Davis more opportunities to play power forward instead of center. However, Koloko is unlikely to be a player worth relying on in most fantasy leagues.
