ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Rockets signed David Roddy to a two-way contract.
Two days after the 76ers waived him, Roddy has agreed to a two-way deal with the Rockets. The 2022 first-round pick has appeared in 30 games this season for the Hawks and 76ers, averaging 4.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 12.5 minutes.
76ers waived David Roddy.
Roddy loses his spot on Philadelphia’s roster to newly-added Jalen Hood-Schifino, who inked a two-way contract on Friday with the club. The 23-year-old was averaging just under 10 minutes per-game this season for the 76ers. He should be able to latch on somewhere else as extra bench depth to close out the year.
The 76ers will reportedly sign David Roddy to a 10-day contract, per NBA insider Jake Fischer.
Waived by the Hawks on Friday, Roddy must clear waivers before officially signing with the 76ers. He appeared in 27 games for Atlanta, averaging 4.5 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12.8 minutes. Roddy’s addition will give the 76ers more depth on the wings but will not impact fantasy basketball.
David Roddy got the start on Wednesday and contributed 17 points (5-of-10 FGs), four rebounds, one assist, two steals and one triple against the Wizards.
Atlanta’s wing rotation has been dropping like flies, which gave Roddy the opportunity to start for the first time as a Hawk. De’Andre Hunter, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Dyson Daniels and Vit Krejci were all sidelined, so Roddy filled out a bigger starting lineup around Trae Young. He has never been impactful in fantasy basketball, but if Atlanta continues to deal with this many injuries, Roddy may be worth streaming in deeper formats. He’s currently rostered in just 1% of Yahoo leagues, so he shouldn’t be difficult to find on the waiver wire.
