The Knicks waived Feron Hunt on Tuesday.
Hunt was on a two-way contract, and they waived him to sign DaQuan Jeffries. This won't impact fantasy hoops.
Feron Hunt has signed a two-way contract with the Knicks.
The 22-year-old forward has had a lot of success in the G League with the Texas Legends. In 37 games, Hunt averaged 17.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.1 blocks and 1.2 triples. That is an intriguing stat profile, so hopefully the Knicks give him a look in the final three weeks. The Knicks will waive Luka Samanic to make room for Hunt.
Feron Hunt will not be active for Tuesday's game against the Cavaliers.
Hunt agreed to a 10-day contract with the Pelicans on Monday, so it isn't a major surprise that he won't be available to play. There's no need to consider picking him up once that changes, either.
The Pelicans are set to extend a 10-day offer to Feron Hunt via the hardship exception.
Through 12 games in the G League, Hunt has compiled averages of 15.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.9 steals, 0.8 swats and 2.4 turnovers per contest on 53.4% shooting. He'll provide some relief to New Orleans' backcourt, but this is a wait-and-see situation just about everywhere.
