Corey Kispert underwent a procedure to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb, and he will miss the rest of the 2024-25 season.
With just a few weeks left in the 2024-25 campaign, the last-place Wizards will be without another key option. In Kispert’s place, Kyshawn George and Justin Champagnie should continue to see increased playing time with AJ Johnson picking up a few extra minutes, too.
Corey Kispert (thumb) has been sent home from the Wizards’ road trip for further evaluation.
Kispert sprained his left thumb during Saturday’s loss to the Nuggets. Already ruled out for Monday’s game in Portland, he has been sent back to the nation’s capital to have his thumb examined by team doctors. Kispert’s early return means AJ Johnson could remain in the rotation. However, fantasy managers are better served to target Kyshawn George and Justin Champagnie, who remain available in more than 70 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
Corey Kispert (thumb) is out for Monday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Kispert injured his left thumb during Saturday’s win over the Nuggets and will not play in Portland on Monday. His absence frees up additional minutes for AJ Johnson, who logged 18 on Saturday, as the Wizards were already playing without Marcus Smart. While Johnson may take on a similar role, he isn’t productive enough to merit being streamed.
Corey Kispert (thumb) will not return to Saturday’s game against the Nuggets.
During Saturday’s game, Kispert sprained the thumb on his left (non-shooting) hand and was ruled out for the rest of the night. He played 15 minutes and finished with four points, two rebounds, and one assist. If Kispert misses time, his absence may be offset by Khris Middleton, who played 20 minutes on Saturday. There may also be minutes available for AJ Johnson, especially with the Wizards prioritizing the development of their young players.
