Yurtseven spent last season with the Jazz, who waived him in late June. In 48 games, the 7-footer averaged 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in 11.4 minutes for Utah. While he went through a free-agent workout with the Knicks in mid-August, the team did not move to sign Yurtseven. He will head to Greece for the next chapter in his professional career on a two-year deal (including an option for the second season).

Yurtseven averaged just over four points, four boards and 11 minutes per contest this season for Utah, though a number of key frontcourt injuries opened up a starting gig for him over final two weeks of the campaign. Yurtseven started Utah’s last six games and averaged 10.9 points and 9.7 rebounds, delivering his best performance of the season in the finale. Yurtseven pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds to end the season on a high note, and he was one of Utah’s lone bright spots in the loss. He should continue to operate as a backup big no matter where he plays in 2024-25.
