Hunter has bounced back nicely since going scoreless in Cleveland’s series-opening win on April 20. Having scored 12 points in Game 2, he was even better on Saturday, helping the Cavaliers absorb the absence of Darius Garland (toe). Regardless of Garland’s status for Monday’s Game 4, Hunter remains a key contributor off the bench. The Cavaliers aim to end the series in Miami, which would net them additional rest ahead of the second round.

Unsurprisingly, Hunter and Jerome are among the Cavaliers’ rotation players who will sit out Sunday’s regular-season finale. Craig Porter Jr. and Javonte Green should figure prominently in the rotation, and there may even be room for an Emoni Bates or Chuma Okeke. Of those options, Porter is the safest for fantasy managers in active leagues.

Hunter didn’t move into the starting unit in place of Evan Mobley, who got a rest night on Thursday, but he did end up providing value off the bench. After playing 22-23 minutes over Cleveland’s three previous games, Hunter played 31 minutes against San Antonio, which allowed him to have one of his best rebounding performances as a Cavalier and set a new high for steals since being traded to Cleveland. The bar wasn’t high, but it was a nice bonus for a player that typically doesn’t contribute many defensive stats despite being known as a strong defender.
