Kendrick Nunn provided a boost off the bench on Tuesday with 24 points (9-for-17 FGs), seven rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block and five 3-pointers in a 140-128 loss to the Bucks.
With Washington officially eliminated from the postseason, they were without six key rotation players on Tuesday. That allowed Nunn to have a big night off the bench, as he set new season-highs for points, rebounds and 3-pointers while tying his season-high for assists and steals. Nunn was joined by six other Wizards to score in double figures, including Jay Huff (17) and Quenton Jackson (10), who set career-highs. Johnny Davis also continued to shine with a 20/5/4/2/2 line and two 3-pointers. Jordan Goodwin got the start with Delon Wright out and put up a 14/4/9 line. Everyone played at least 20 minutes in this game, which is encouraging for streaming Wizards over their final three games.
Kendrick Nunn recorded a line of 12 points (5-of-9 FGs), four rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two 3-pointers in 22 minutes in Wednesday's 108-103 win over the Rockets.
Nunn made his Wizards debut Wednesday night (DNP-CD on Tuesday), and rotation minutes became available when starting point guard Monte Morris (hamstring) was ruled out. Washington's newest player served as Delon Wright's backup, logging minutes unlikely to be there once Morris is cleared to return. Nunn's ability to play either guard position is countered by the fact that the Wizards are largely set at those spots. A nice debut for Nunn, but fantasy managers should be careful to read too much into it. Wait to see how his minutes look when Morris is available before making a move on Nunn.
Kendrick Nunn will make his Wizards debut Tuesday against the Mavericks.
Life comes at you fast. Nunn was traded from Los Angeles to Washington on Monday, and he'll be available for his new team just a day later. It's unclear how much playing time Nunn will get after such a quick turnaround, so we wouldn't advise streaming him (or picking him up for that matter).
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers have sent Kendrick Nunn, and three future second-round picks to the Wizards in exchange for Rui Hachimura.
The Lakers were in need of another scoring option in the frontcourt, and Hachimura fits that mold. And it was also reported by Wojnarowski that the Lakers plan to re-sign Hachimura, who will be a restricted free agent this summer. As for Nunn, his time with the Lakers did not bear much fruit. He missed the entire 2021-22 season with a knee injury and was largely on the back end of the rotation this season. His fantasy outlook in Washington isn't great, but there's a slightly clearer path to consistent playing time in the nation's capital than in Los Angeles.
