Shake Milton amassed 21 points (7-of-8 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), four rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes in Thursday’s win over Washington.
With Gabe Vincent out with a sore knee, Milton picked up additional rotation minutes off the bench on Thursday. While the opportunity and the opponent helped, give Shake credit for stepping up and having his best night as a Laker. In his prior nine appearances, he scored 15 points in total. Therefore, fantasy managers should not overreact and rush to add Milton. However, if Vincent remains out for Saturday’s game against the Knicks, Shake will be worth a dice roll.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Lakers have acquired Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton from the Nets in exchange for D’Angelo Russell, Maxwell Lewis, and three future second-round picks.
Two days removed from tallying 16 points and 12 assists in a loss to the Spurs, Milton is on the move. It took a trade (Dennis Schroder to Golden State) and Ben Simmons’ inconsistent availability for Milton to get increased opportunities in Brooklyn, and the move west is unlikely to do much for his fantasy value.
Shake Milton played 33 minutes in Friday’s 96-87 loss to San Antonio, accounting for 16 points (5-of-9 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), three rebounds, 12 assists, one steal, and three 3-pointers.
The Nets will start Shake Milton, Keon Johnson, Jalen Wilson, Dorian Finney-Smith and Nicolas Claxton against San Antonio on Friday.
Milton and Wilson will replace Ben Simmons and Cam Johnson in the starting lineup, with the latter two sidelined for this game. DFS will also return to the starting lineup after missing their last three games, which will send Noah Clowney back to the bench.
