Royce O’Neale accounted for 12 points (4-of-11 FGs), six rebounds, two assists and four three-pointers in 30 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Celtics.
Royce O’Neale (illness) was an active participant during Thursday’s practice.
O’Neale was a late addition to the Suns’ injury report for Tuesday’s game in Milwaukee, which he was ultimately ruled out of. His return to practice is a step in the right direction, as the Suns are already without Kevin Durant (ankle). O’Neale should be considered questionable for Friday’s game in Boston, and he would have deep-league streaming value if allowed to play.
Royce O’Neale (illness) is questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Bucks.
O’Neale’s appearance on the Suns’ injury report has the potential to be more impactful than many would expect. Kevin Durant (ankle) is out for at least one week, and with Bradley Beal (hamstring) also questionable, Phoenix may be light on wing options if O’Neale cannot play. Grayson Allen’s role would be of heightened importance, and he’s worth streaming if asked to play starters’ minutes.
Royce O’Neale shot 2-of-5 from the field in Sunday’s loss to the Rockets, amassing six points, three rebounds and three assists in 15 minutes.
O’Neale’s stat line wasn’t much to brag about, as the veteran wing only logged 15 minutes in the 148-109 defeat. However, with Kevin Durant exiting during the third quarter with a sprained left ankle, the Suns may need more from Royce during Week 22. Phoenix plays three games during Week 22, starting with the Bucks on Tuesday. And if Durant cannot play, O’Neale is his likely replacement in the starting lineup.
