Karl-Anthony Towns posted 27 points (10-of-22 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs) with nine rebounds, an assist, a block, and five three-pointers against the Pistons on Sunday.
KAT made the most important bucket of the night from long distance to give the Knicks a 94-93 lead in the fourth quarter. The star big man has bounced back in a big way after scoring just 10 points in Game 2. He’s made nine of his previous 14 shots from beyond the arc and will look to continue stretching the floor with his sharpshooting in Game 5.
Karl-Anthony Towns recorded 31 points (10-of-18 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, two blocks and four three-pointers in 41 minutes in Thursday’s Game 3 win over the Pistons.
After attempting just three shots after halftime in Monday’s Game 2 defeat, Towns was far more involved in the Knicks’ offense Thursday night. He shot 3-of-7 from the field in the first quarter and generally punished whichever Piston was tasked with guarding him throughout the night. As a result of the Game 3 win, the Knicks hold a 2-1 lead in a series they could very well trail by a 3-0 margin. Towns will need to remain aggressive in Sunday’s Game 4 if the Knicks are to strengthen their grip on the series.
Karl-Anthony Towns struggled on Monday and contributed just 10 points (5-of-11 FGs), six rebounds and one block against the Pistons in Game 2.
Towns was awesome in Game 1 and contributed a 23/11/5/4/2 line in 39 minutes. However, he wasn’t able to repeat that performance, mostly because the team didn’t make him a priority. He was held scoreless in the second half and took just three shots after the break. His last shot attempts came with 5:20 remaining in the third quarter. Towns didn’t do a great job on the glass either. While he needs to be better there, Towns is a dynamic scorer. They aren’t paying him $49 million this season because he makes the hustle plays. They need to get him going in Game 3 on Thursday.
Karl-Anthony Towns amassed 23 points (10-of-14 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 11 rebounds, five assists, four steals, two blocks and one three-pointer in 39 minutes in Saturday’s Game 1 win over the Pistons.
