Shelvin Mack
Player News
Mack signed a two-year contract Thursday with Italian club Olimpia Milano, Eurohoops.net reports.
The 29-year-old will head to Europe for the first time after an eight-year run in the NBA that included stops with seven organizations. After averaging 7.5 points, 3.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 21.9 minutes per game over 57 appearances between the Hornets and Grizzlies in 2018-19, Mack failed to attract much interest from teams in free agency this offseason. He'll thus continue his career overseas, though he could make the jump back to the NBA at some point if a team is interested in bringing him in as a backup point guard.
Mack will not be available Tuesday against the Cavs due to a personal matter.
The nature of the absence is unclear, but Mack hasn't been a part of the regular rotation anyway.
Mack is listed as inactive for Friday's game against Washington.
Mack hasn't played in 10 straight contests, so this update doesn't come as a shock. He's averaging 7.8 points, 3.3 assists and 1.9 rebounds over 55 games this season.
Mack had zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 FT), one assist, and one steal in 12 minutes during Monday's 99-90 loss to the Pacers.
Mack was a massive disappointment in his Hornets debut. It will likely take him some time to gel with his new teammates and figure out the system, but this showing illustrates the fact that when healthy Tony Parker (back) remains Charlotte's best backup guard for fantasy purposes.
