Burke will look to find a minimum-level deal elsewhere, but he's a non-factor in fantasy hoops.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski described this deal, which was headlined by nobody in particular, as "cap-centric." The Thunder drop below the luxury tax and gain trade exceptions, while the Rockets pick up a second-round pick. Burke wasn't fantasy-relevant in Houston, and he won't be in OKC or anywhere else he's traded this season -- the Thunder are technically his seventh NBA team, though he was with the Rockets for less than four months this offseason.

As a result of this decision, Burke is due to be paid $3.3 million next season. His decision to opt into the final year of his contract now means that the trade between the Mavericks and Rockets, which is headlined by Christian Wood, can be completed. Due to the Stepien Rule, the trade won't become official until after Dallas makes the 26th overall pick (which is headed to Houston in the deal) in the draft on June 23. 

Burke was likely just salary filler here after an unsuccessful season in Dallas. Burke made just 42 appearances with the Mavericks in 2021-22 and there is no guarantee he finds a role with the rebuilding Rockets.
