Patrick Christopher

Christopher will compete for a roster spot during the Grizzlies preseason but will likely end up playing in the D-League by the time the season begins.

Christopher appeared in just four games for the Jazz averaging 7.3 minutes per contest. Given the injuries the Jazz have in their back court it is surprising to see them cut their depth at the guard position.

This is a really tough break for the 26-year old. He was making his NBA starting debut after going undrafted all the way back in 2010, and it looked like he could carve out a nice role for himself, especially with Rodney Hood now out for some time with a heel injury. Christopher was 0-1 from the field with an offensive rebound before exiting. He could be out anywhere from a month to the season with the injury, but after seeing the fall he took and just the appearance of the actual injury, it\'s hard to imagine him being back anytime soon.

Christopher appeared to have suffered a pretty significant knee injury. He\'ll go to the locker room to be evaluated.
