Kirk Hinrich
Player News
Kirk Hinrich will not play on Friday.
Hinrich hasn't played for the Hawks since being acquired by Chicago prior to last week's trade deadline. He can safely be avoided in all formats.
Kirk Hinrich will be available to make his Hawks season debut on Saturday.
He will be dressed out and on the bench for Atlanta but that doesn't mean he will actually see any court time as he was just traded to the Hawks and might need some time to learn the new system. Without a guaranteed role in Atlanta it makes it hard to add Hinrich to a fantasy roster especially averaging just 3.8 PPG and 1.7 APG to this point in the season. He can be left on waivers for the time being.
The Hawks expect Kirk Hinrich to arrive in Atlanta Friday but he will not play tonight.
Hinrich will don a Hawks' uniform for the second time in his career, as the team acquired him at the trade deadline for the second time in the past five years. The veteran guard does not figure to play a prominent role in the rotation going forward, but does provide value as an experienced leader.
Kirk Hinrich has been traded to the Hawks for a second round pick.
After being delegated to a strict bench role, Hinrich has been shipped to Atlanta. Atlanta moved Shelvin Mack earlier today, so that freed up an open guard position on the team. Hinrich has slowed down drastically over the last few seasons, but he can still be a solid three and defense guy for the Hawks. His contract also expires at the end of the season, so it was a smart move financially for the Hawks and it opened up some cap room for Chicago as well.
