P.J. Hairston

This was a long shot from the start for Hairston to make the final 15 man roster in Houston. He didn't help himself by not making any kind of impression in training camp or the preseason. He'll likely end up overseas or in the D-league this season.

Hairston has a chance to play himself into a roster spot with Houston but he'll be buried on the depth chart behind the likes of Eric Gordon and Corey Brewer. This may not be the best fit for both sides but we'll have to see how it plays out.

His status has changed for the worse with this news as he was expected to suit it up for the Grizzlies on Friday. Hairston has been out since the middle of March with the groin and now looks likely to miss another game. Tony Allen and Vince Carter will continue to see a lot of the minutes at SG while Hairston remains out.

Hairston has missed the Grizzlies' last 11 games, as a groin injury has kept him out of action since March 14th. The second-year swingman has averaged 7.4 points and 2.6 rebounds across 14 games (nine starts) since joining the Grizzlies on February 19th.
