Lou Williams officially announced his retirement after 17 years in the NBA, according to Shams Charania.
"Lemon Pepper Lou" is the NBA's all-time leading bench scorer and three-time Sixth Man of the Year award winner. He last appeared with the Atanta Hawks in 2021-22, and he did not log any minutes last season.
Lou Williams intends to continue playing next season, according to his agent, Wallace Prather.
Williams averaged 6.3 points per game with 1.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game last season in 14.3 minutes for the Hawks. He is now a free agent and, according to his agent, the 17-year veteran has no plan to retire. “(Williams) is not pursuing retirement, and I’ll be proactive in talking to teams during free agency,” Prather said. Even if a team adds the veteran to their roster next season, he is not expected to impact fantasy basketball.
Lou Williams (back) will not suit up for Game 5 in Miami on Tuesday.
Correct.
Lou Williams (lower back discomfort) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Heat.
Williams isn't a big part of the rotation in Atlanta for his playing status to have any impact on fantasy hoops.
