The Nuggets will start Jamal Murray, Justin Holiday, Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon and Nikola Jokic against the Lakers on Thursday.
With Kentavious Caldwell-Pope sidelined, Holiday will get the starting nod on the wing. Christian Braun should see a few extra minutes off the bench as well in this game, and he will likely have more fantasy upside than Holiday, who won’t provide much more than some 3-pointers.
Justin Holiday shot 1-of-6 from the field in Thursday’s 124-101 win over the Nets, scoring two points with one rebound, two assists, and four steals in 27 minutes.
Starting for the injured Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Holiday didn’t provide much value offensively. He missed all five of his 3-point attempts, with the two points being matched by his two assists. However, Holiday did accumulate four steals, which will benefit the few fantasy managers who streamed him in category leagues. Reggie Jackson (12 points, four assists, two steals, and two 3-pointers) and Christian Braun (10/4/2/1/1 with one 3-pointer) had more productive nights offensively and are worth a more extended look than Holiday if KCP remains sidelined.
Justin Holiday set a new season-high on Friday with 15 points (6-of-8 FGs), two rebounds, five assists, one steal and three 3-pointers against the Suns.
Holiday started for the fourth straight game with Aaron Gordon still sidelined. He hasn’t been a great streaming option, but he was able to set a new season-high for scoring in this game. Denver plays again on Saturday in Sacramento, and if AG makes it five straight absences, Holiday should start once again. Across his four starts, he is averaging 10.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 triples. He doesn’t have much upside, but if you need a boost of 3-pointers or steals, he is a decent option.
Jamal Murray, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Michael Porter Jr., Justin Holiday, and Nikola Jokic will start Wednesday’s game against the Rockets.
With Murray and Jokic back in action, the Nuggets will have four-fifths of their usual starting lineup on the court. The lone absentee is Aaron Gordon, who remains sidelined with a strained right heel. Holiday will continue to start until Gordon returns, but the presence of Murray and Jokic limits his streaming potential.
