Amir Johnson
Player News
Marc Stein of the New York Times is reporting that veteran center Amir Johnson is a "prime target" for the Nets.
The Nets are in need of reinforcements up front as DeAndre Jordan and Nic Claxton will not play in Orlando. Johnson would likely be looking at minutes in the teens behind Jarrett Allen in Orlando if he lands a deal with the Nets, so there's minimal fantasy impact here. Johnson last played for the 76ers in 2018-19, averaging just 10.4 minutes per game for 3.9 points and 2.9 rebounds.
Johnson has been activated ahead of Game 2 against the Raptors on Monday, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Johnson hasn't taken the court so far this postseason, but with Joel Embiid's status up in the air due to a stomach bug, Johnson will be active. He could be asked to take on a sizeable role in the rotation if Embiid can't go.
Johnson is listed as inactive for Saturday's tilt with the Raptors, Blake Murphy of The Athletic reports.
Johnson was given the inactive tag for the first game of Round 2. He didn't see the court in Round 1 so the decision won't have an impact on Philadelphia's rotations.
Johnson finished with 12 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds, two blocks, one steal and an assist across 24 minutes in the 76ers' win over the Bulls on Wednesday.
Johnson nearly had a double-double in Wednesday's win, and he had a solid final stat line. He's had a very minimal role this season, and hasn't been fantasy relevant even in Joel Embiid's absences.
