Glen Davis
Player News
Glen Davis is having surgery to repair torn ligaments, a cyst and bone spurs in his left ankle Wednesday.
Davis will miss some time recovering, but we haven't heard anything that suggests he won't be ready by the time the season begins. The Clippers and Mavs have shown interest in the free agent, but he remains unsigned.
Clippers remain interested in re-signing Glen Davis.
Davis averaged 12.2 minutes a game off the bench for the Clippers in 2014, scoring 4.0 points and pulling down 2.3 rebounds. His role on the Clippers will continue to be limited and such there would be zero fantasy value in him.
Glen Davis says that he is open to playing in Europe or China if he doesn't get an NBA deal.
Davis had been talking with the Clippers about re-signing with them, but nothing materialized from those discussions. He averaged just 12.2 minutes per game last season but averaged just 4.0 points and 2.3 rebounds. With few options open, Big Baby is going to need to head overseas if he wants to, not only play, but get paid to do so.
Clippers coach-president Doc Rivers has reached out to a representative for forward Glen Davis.
The Clippers could use a real upgrade to their bench and Davis is definitely not the answer. While he can score occasionally, he shoots a low percentage from the field and doesn't offer much on the defensive end. The Clippers would be wise to look elsewhere.
