Derrick Williams

Williams is coming off a stint in Turkey with Fenerbahce, prior to which he was playing in Germany. He's 29 years old and all signs point to him finishing his playing career overseas.

Williams only played two NBA games last year for the Lakers, totaling two points and one rebound in nine minutes. He's seen his playing time fall each season since his second year in the league, and things have ultimately reached a breaking point with him signing overseas. It's still possible he attempts an NBA comeback considering he's entering his age 27 season.

Williams inked a contract with the Lakers in early March, but ended up seeing action in just one of five games he was available for. The Lakers will now appartently look elsewhere to fill their final roster spot, which sends Williams back to the free agent market. He could head to the G-League in an attempt to drum up interest elsewhere in the NBA for those in need of depth at the forward positions.

Williams, who is 26 years old, signed a 10-day deal with the Lakers on Friday. It's unclear at the moment what his role will be, but it's probably worth holding off from adding him on the waiver wire until he sees the floor. Even still, there's far from a guarantee he'll end up making the roster for the remainder of the season.
