Donatas Motiejunas

Motiejunas played in the CBA for the past two seasons with Shandong Golden Stars, so he's no stranger to the Chinese game. After his most recent CBA campaign ended, the 28-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Spurs in the spring, but appeared in just three regular-season contests. Motiejunas was unable to parlay his stint with the Spurs into a new deal or contract offers from other NBA teams, so he'll look to impress overseas again before potentially returning stateside next spring.

It appears as if Motiejunas has cleared up the visa issue that's kept him from appearing yet for the Spurs. Initially signed as a replacement for Pau Gasol, the Lithuanian forward will likely slot in behind Jakob Poeltl and LaMarcus Aldridge at center. In his most recent NBA stint in 2016, Motiejunas averaged 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds in 14.1 minutes per game for the Pelicans.

Motiejunas came to terms with the Spurs on a contract more than a week ago and was expected to offer depth in the frontcourt after the team cut Pau Gasol. The visa issues have delayed his arrival and could prevent Motiejunas from entering the San Antonio rotation before the regular season comes to a close, though the Spurs remain optimistic the big man's situation will ultimately be resolved before long.

Motiejunas has spent time with the Rockets and, more recently, the Pelicans, but he's been playing overseas in China for the better part of the last two years. With the CBA season concluded, he'll return stateside to provide some added frontcourt depth down the stretch for a Spurs team that bought out Pau Gasol.
