Charlie Villanueva

Villanueva had played only 27 minutes over his last four games heading into Friday's contest, but managed to make the most of his extended playing time as he finished tied for the team-high in points. Considering he would not have played this much ad the game stayed close, there is no reason to look too much into this situation as he is nothing more than a bench player with limited fantasy potential at this point in his career.

This would be the second start in a row for Charlie Villanueva after starting in place of Dirk Nowitzki on Wednesday. Villanueva was 5-of-14 on FGs with 14 points, six rebounds, one steal, one assist, and one block. The Mavericks will be up against a top-10 defense in the Thunder on Friday, so unless it is a deep league, he should be avoided unless desperate.

Dirk is currently dealing with a swollen knee, so Villanueva will be getting a short-lived fantasy boost. Consider him merely a DFS play, as committing a waiver claim on him might prove to be dangerous in standard leagues.

Villanueva was ejected for grabbing Russell Westbrook's throat during a Wednesday night scuffle after a hard Mavericks foul. Expect them to be fine without him, just as fantasy owners will be, the very few who own him that is.
