Jason Maxiell

Maxiell provides good rebounding and interior defense, and had his contract guaranteed for the balance of the season recently. He is not exactly an offense threat, so the move must be for defensive purposes.

Maxiell was just a benchwarmer who played in garbage-time only, but with Al Jefferson sidelined, he\'s averaged 21 minutes with 4.5 rebounds per game. He\'s not going to light up the scoreboard for anyone, but if you\'re looking for depth at the position and need a rebound guy for plug-and-play purposes, he\'s definitely a usable commodity.

This is a great signing for the Hornets because they had no veterans at the Power Forward position. Maxiell is a big, tough power forward that will get 10-15 minutes of playing time per game.
