Thompson, who last appeared in the NBA during the 2015-16 campaign, spent last season with the Shandong Golden Stars of the Chinese Basketball Association. He'll continue to play overseas for the 2017-18 campaign, but in Turkey rather than China.

With the Raptors resting many regulars, an opportunity is presented to the bench players. Justin Thompson will start for Toronto on Friday night. He has averaged 2.6 points with two rebounds in his last five games but in only 11 minutes per contest. He should play as many minutes as he can handle on Friday night.

Thompson will get the start against an injury plagued Memphis team Friday. You can still ignore him in seasonal, but in DFS he deserves a look as a tournament dart.

It was assumed that Patrick Patterson was in line for the starting nod with Scola out, but in hopes of not mixing up minutes distribution and a second unit jive, Thompson is getting the start instead. This will boost his value for sure, but there are still no guarantees that he will serve as an effective fantasy option while getting starters minutes.
