Pistons announce they have waived Danny Granger.

This shouldn't come as a shock considering Granger never saw the court for Detroit as he was rehabbing knee and foot injuries. According to reports the former all-star wing player will need about another month to finish rehabbing his foot injury and then hopes to work out for teams. At 32, he could still have some useful years left but almost assuredly as a role player and no longer as a starter.

Granger will stay in Arizona to rehab his knee while the team starts training camp. The 32-year old forward has been bothered by a ton of injuries, throughout his career, and unfortunately, he will likely suffer one during the season as well. Granger is a low-end option in fantasy leagues this season.

Danny Granger is still a candidate to be released, but coach Stan Van Gundy didn't rule out Granger making the roster.

Granger has floated from team to team over the past couple of seasons and is having a hard time producing. He could be a viable bench option for the Pistons, but right now they are not sure he fits in their plans. Either way he will be playing in the NBA next season it is just a matter of for what team.

Danny Granger has opted in with Suns to stay in Phoenix next season.

It has been a struggle for the former Pacer star forward ever since suffering patellar tendinois during the Pacers' best season in 2012-13. Since then, Granger has bounced around from the Clippers, Heat and now the Suns - although he did not play for Phoenix during the 2014-15 season. With his best days behind him and no other teams wanting to take a chance on him, Granger's best option is to stay in Phoenix.
