Player News

Corey Brewer has officially been signed by the Kings for the resumption of the season and playoffs in Orlando.

As we said yesterday, Brewer is a tough, defensive specialist but isn't likely to do much in terms of fantasy in Orlando. He averaged just 4.1 points in his last stint with the Kings during the 2018-19 season.

The Kings are expected to sign Corey Brewer during this week's transaction window.

Brewer is a defensive specialist and this will be his third stint with the Kings. Brewer was with the Kings (and Sixers) in 2018-19 and averaged 4.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 24 games during that stint. He will be nothing more than a DFS flier in Orlando, and not a great one at that.

NBA veteran Corey Brewer is still hopeful to land another contract.

“We had some talks with a few teams, but nothing really happened. My agent is still working on it, so we’ll see,” Brewer said. “I feel like I can still help a team and I feel like I have a few good years left. But you never know, man. It’s a lot of young guys now. But we’ll see what happens.” Now 34 years old, Brewer has played for eight different NBA teams with career averages of 8.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.5 dimes and 1.3 steals. He used to be a beast in transition, but since he's lost a step and doesn't have a reliable perimeter shot, the chances of him landing another contract are slim.

Brewer (groin) has been cleared to play Friday against the Jazz.

Brewer was previously considered questionable with a sore right groin, but the veteran evidently feels good enough to come off the bench. He's averaging 4.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists over his last five games.
