Ian Mahinmi
Player News
NBA veteran Ian Mahinmi has announced his retirement from professional basketball.
Mahinmi appeared in a total of 618 games in the NBA and last played for the Washington Wizards during the 2019-20 campaign. He did not play during the 2020-21 season.
Ian Mahinmi picked up another DNP-CD on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old veteran is slated for free agency, and may not find an interested team this summer. He's started 35 games for the Wizards in 2019-20, due to Thomas Bryant's injuries and a lack of depth at the center spot, but there's no reason to think he'll be a fantasy asset next season.
Ian Mahinmi (sore groin) is available to play Saturday night against the Clippers.
Mahinmi was held out of Washington's scrimmage against Denver on Wednesday due to the groin issue, but he's been deemed healthy enough to go Saturday. Even when healthy he isn't worth grabbing in fantasy, especially with Thomas Bryant back in the rotation.
Scott Brooks said that Ian Mahinmi (groin) is "getting better."
Mahinmi missed Washington's first exhibition game with a groin issue, but he always seems to be dealing with something. He's irrelevant in fantasy hoops, anyway.
